United Way Of The Mohawk Valley Expands Staff Team

United Way of the Mohawk Valley Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Susan Litera announced three new additions to the Utica team. Based in the Utica office, Hallie Edic has joined the organization as a Data Specialist, Kendra Green has been named HMIS Specialist and Kassandra Garcia will serve as Workplace Campaign and Development Specialist.

“We are excited to add Hallie, Kendra and Kasandra to our staff. All three will play vital roles in our mission to create a thriving community by connecting people, resources, and solutions throughout the Mohawk Valley,” stated Litera.

Edic will work within a team environment to ensure that UWMV Strategic Impact Department and its initiatives continue to evolve and meet the challenge of improving the health, education and financial stability of people living in the Mohawk Valley. Additionally, she will work collaboratively on UWMV initiatives in alignment with established department and agency priorities. Edic will be responsible for developing and maintaining donor contact records, updating databases, generating reports, attending committee meetings, and misc. administration work. Edic previously served as an Employment Coordinator with Mohawk Valley Health System and currently holds a bachelor’s degree in English from SUNY Geneseo and resides in New York Mills, New York.

Hallie Edic

Hallie Edic, Data Specialist

Green will be responsible for learning and utilizing current HMIS software serving the Continuum of Care (COC) NY-518. Responsible for analytical support; and ensure compliance with HUD and all other federal and state data collection and reporting regulations, and Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Work directly with HMIS Administrator, Coordinated Entry Specialists, and CoC NY-518.
  • Maintain current knowledge of homeless assistance programs and related initiatives.
  • Analyze data for internal reporting and monitoring purposes.
  • Create and revise forms and other tools to ensure compliance with HUD regulations and/or compliance with other federal projects and state funded projects.
  • Provide technical support and monitoring to partner agencies and end users to ensure proper use of the HMIS.

Green previously served as a Housing Facilitator with Community Action Partnership and earned a master’s degree of social work from Syracuse University and lives in Rome, New York.

 

Kendra Green

Kendra Green, HMIS Specialist

Garcia will concentrate on successfully leading the annual fund and donor stewardship initiatives. Under the direction of the Director of Development & Communications, this position will also be responsible for maintaining donor relations and securing new donors, including corporate and individual giving, effective and efficient use of resources, and donor management systems to measure and achieve set goals. Most recently, Ms. Garcia served as a marketing intern with Kaufman, Borgeest & Ryan LLP and is a 2024 graduate of Pace University with a bachelor’s degree in communications and minor in computer science. She currently resides in Rome, New York.
