United Way’s Pin-Up Program Challenge Winner Announced!

McQuade & Bannigan, Inc. Wins Annual Pin-Up Challenge

United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area focuses on our community’s education, economic mobility, basic needs and health.
Local businesses showed their support for United Way’s mission to help thousands of individuals, children and families in our
community by taking part in United Way’s Pin-Up Challenge.

Fifteen businesses that participated asked their customers to make a $1 donation and to sign a pin-up sheet with their names to be prominently displayed on-site.

United Way’s 2018 Pin-Up Program Challenge raised $1,421.00 with local construction supplier McQuade & Bannigan, Inc. bringing in the
highest dollar amount of all participating businesses with $290.00.

“My grandfather Bud Bannigan believed in the United Way,” states McQuade & Bannigan Comptroller, Colleen Bannigan D’Accurzio, “and always encouraged our employees to contribute.
When he was 90, I took over running the campaign for the company. Since then we have volunteered for more and more events.
I plan on continuing the tradition of always supporting the community and especially the United Way.”

Other event participants included DeSantis Meat Market & Deli, Gentlemen’s Corner Barber Shop, Holland Farms, Irwin’s Fine Food, Jonny’s Pizza, Kayuta Diner,
Lukin’s Pizzeria, Pizza Boys, Riverside Diner, Sunflower Naturals, Switfy’s Restaurant and Pub, The Fitness Mill, Wilie’s Bagel Café, and Woodland Farm Brewery.
