Meet Erin!
Erin began her career with United Way MV in March 2018. She started her career in the banking industry, then transitioned into the tech start-up world, with a position at Twitter being her last before joining the United Way team. Although she’s only been leading United Way MV for 3 years, she’s been involved in community/nonprofit work for decades. Erin says “I feel lucky to have been brought to this community and am happy to know my children will get to experience growing up here.”
United Way is a leading problem solver, innovator, and connector in the Mohawk Valley. Erin considers herself to be an “innovator”, and says, “We have been able to bring innovation to just about everything we do. From the technology we use (cloud-based programs), to the programs we deliver, to the way we engage with our partner agencies.” When asked why she likes to work for United Way, Erin says “We have the energy, commitment, and talent on our team to achieve results and drive positive impact in our community. I believe we have a unique opportunity to make a difference.”
Erin’s favorite projects at United Way are all of the projects where we have brought a first-to-market opportunity to our community. “We have had so many opportunities to innovate: offering a texting platform through 2-1-1 to help people after the floods in 2019, launching our new Volunteers United platform, and partnering with NYS to launch the Academics First extended-day childcare center,” says Erin. “Feeling passionate about what we do and knowing we have so much flexibility in the ways we help people both motivate me every day.”
Her favorite United Way events are Saranac Thursday’s and Day of Thanks.

- She is a mom of three.
- Her favorite pizza places in the area are Charlies, Lukins, and Mangia Macrina all for different reasons. Banana peppers and mushrooms (not together) are her favorite toppings.
- Erin loves halfmoons from Holland Farms
- Her favorite places to visit in the area are any of the parks, the brewery, and the Clinton farmer’s market.
- Her favorite community event in the last year was Bank of Utica’s inaugural NYE street party.
